Appraise workplace injury, illness & fatality statistics to extrapolate the cost of occupational loss.

2.

Define and differentiate between key terminology applicable to the subject area.

3.

Explain the nature of risk and the concept of risk assessment.

Ongoing assessment of understanding and acquisition of knowledge will take place during each lecture using discussion and questions and answers - formative feedback occurs at this time.

Short & multiple choice questions will be used to enable learners to demonstrate knowledge & understanding - summative feedback will be given.

Students demonstrate their knowledge of the practical application of hazard identification techniques & risk assessment methodologies by completing a work based assignment - summative and formative feedback will be given.

The final exam allows students to demonstrate their knowledge of the theoretical and practical aspects of controlling occupational loss in the workplace.
