This module introduces the management, principles, practices and procedures applied to the built environment.

Learning Outcomes

On completion of this module the learner will/should be able to;

1.

Identify the principles and practice of management in the construction industry.

2.

Understand the role of planning and decision making in the management of organisations within the construction industry.

3.

Demonstrate an understanding of human motivation through the interpretation and application of various schools of thought.

4.

Interpret and explain the communication process in organisations including the barriers to effective communication.

5.

Demonstrate an understanding of the characteristics, skills and professional requirements within the built environment.
