This module encompasses the practical application of knowledge and skills from core modules with an emphasis on estimating software

Learning Outcomes

On completion of this module the learner will/should be able to;


Integrate knowledge of principles, practice and theories from cognate modules


Identify, select and apply appropriate measurement solutions to complex building elements


Apply the various tools and mechanisms of appropriate software to their most efficient


Collaborate with peers in a team environment in order to solve problems


Work independently in a self-directed manner in limited contexts

Teaching and Learning Strategies

Instruction is by means of weekly tutorials to be held in a computer laboratory providing students with the opportunity to present solutions to the tutor on pre-determined tasks. Audio visual aids are used by the tutor in the form of slide projections mainly to elaborate on content and to stimulate discussion.
