Description

This module aims to increase the learners knowledge and understanding of the areas of corporate social responsibility, ethics, change management, organisational learning and knowledge management in organisations. The module will focus on the application of theory and concepts in each of these areas, as well as the use of practical examples and case studies.

Learning Outcomes

On completion of this module the learner will/should be able to;

1.

Understand the importance of corporate social responsiblilty in a contemporary business environment.

2.

Explain the stances that an organisation can adopt in relation to ethics.

3.

Evaluate the change process and the successful management of change within organisations.

4.

Demonstrate an understanding of the importance of organisational learning and knowledge management in modern organisations.

Teaching and Learning Strategies

The student will engage with the content of the module through lectures, case studies, problem based learning and the use of interactive multi-media tools.

Module Assessment Strategies

A combination of in class exercises, multiple choice tests, written research reports, oral presentations and end of semester examination will be used as appropriate for assessment purposes.
