Instrumentation and control for online qualifiers 1

Learning Outcomes

On completion of this module the learner will/should be able to;

1.

Define common electrical units, describe electrical terms, laws and relationships

2.

Perform calculations of component values and electrical quantities

3.

Describe the electrical characteristics, and applications, of PN − junction diodes, LEDs, and transistors, with load−lines

4.

Describe the principle of operation, construction, characteristics and use of a selection of components, including common sensors and actuators

5.

Describe the concept of measurement and control systems, explain associated terminology, and perform calculations on actual systems
