This subject aims to provide students with essential skills in fundamental Mathematical areas.

Indicative Syllabus

1.   Basic Mathematics: Basic arithmetic operations, fractions and decimals, percentages and ratios, indices. Use of calculator. Operator precedence rules. Manipulate algebraic expresions. Linear and quadratic equations. Graphs.

2.   Data Presentation and Summarisation: Various charts. Mean, median and mode. Range, interquartile range, standard deviation. Co-efficient of variation.

 

3.   Discrete Mathematics: Sets, relations and functions. Propositional and predicate calculus.
