Description

This module aims to progress the language skills relevant to an intermediate level in the target language, developing fluency and levels of comprehension so that the student can interact in a native speaking environment with relative ease.

Learning Outcomes

On completion of this module the learner will/should be able to;

1.

progress towards achieving Level B2 (independend User) withing the Common European Framework for Language Learning ( Council of Europe Guidelines)

2.

understand the main ideas of more complex text on topics which relate to their field of specialisation

3.

produce detailed texts on subjects relating to both their personal interests and their chosen area of study

4.

interact with some fluency and spontaneity with native speakers

5.

express a viewpoint on topics relating to their field of interest and current affairs

6.

make an oral presentation on a topic which relates to their field of specialisation

Spoken Production: can present clear descriptions on  the range of subjects relevant to this semester

Writing:  can write detailed text on the range of subjects relevant to this semester

Cultural Awareness: can demonstrate an understanding of German culture through project and presentation work
