Description

This module introduces the student to a wide range of physical, chemical and biological methods commonly used in  water analysis in the context of the regulatory framework. 

Learning Outcomes

On completion of this module the learner will/should be able to;

1.

Describe the theoretical principles of water quality analysis.

2.

Perform a range of analytical techniques on various water samples and comment on the accuracy, precision and limitations of the data generated.

3.

Interpret scientific data using knowledge of water quality parameters and relevant water legislation, where appropriate.

4.

Generate and record scientific data in a laboratory both individually and in teams.

5.

Write a scientific report.
