This module aims to provide students with a general knowledge and understanding of a number of analytical test methods employed in the Quality Control analysis of Biopharmaceutical products.  

Learning Outcomes

On completion of this module the learner will/should be able to;

1.

Discuss the key features of a protein product and its quality attributes.

2.

Outline the principal test methods employed in the analysis of biopharmaceutical products.

3.

Outline some of the main differences between the analysis of a pharmaceutical and a biologic product.

4.

Describe the typical analytical equipment employed for performance of the analytical test methods.

5.

Explain the underlying operational principles behind the main analytical test instrumentation.

Analysis of a protein solutions.

Analysis of buffering solutions.

The fundamental principles and applications of the following bioanalytical technologies:

•·         Biological Safety Testing-Bioburden. 

•·         Aseptic Techniques.

•·         Introduction to High Pressure Liquid Chromatography: Principles and Applications.
